As of January 1, 2016, the New York State Department of Labor has established licensing requirements for professionals engaged in mold assessment and remediation. Please review ‘Article 32 of the New York State Labor Law‘ for more information about the requirements and the law.
- Please follow the steps below if you think you have mold or a mold like substance in your home. Contact a NYS-licensed mold assessor. Review the list of assessors provided for you. You are not limited to the contacts on this page.Bergami Building Inspections
- Contact a NYS-licensed mold remediator to provide an inspection for exact pricing. Either you or the assessor will need to provide the remediator with the assessment either prior or during the inspection.
- Contract the remediator of your choice to perform the mold abatement. Once abatement is complete all chambers and equipment inside the chambers must be left up for the mold assessor to inspect so they may deem the structure clear. Once the assessor clears the structure the remediators will return to remove all items.
